1) I want to share with you all a moment of pure grace that happened when my daughter was typed by Barbara and Alan yesterday at the typing training in Minneapolis.

Jessica had come to baby-sit their daughter, and I had told them that I suspected Jessica was soultype 4 energy, reflected by what I experienced as her very gentle nature and intimate way. Of course what I did not say (but I bet they knew) was that my ego was totally attached to being absolutely sure that she was a soultype 4—in fact, so sure that I had trained her in everything about assuming the soultype 4 stance and connecting to the world in a soultype 4 way. So, image my surprise (quickly followed by concern, guilt, self consciousness, and all of those other ego things) when Barbara and Alan both said they suspected Jessica might be another number, perhaps a soultype 2. My ego could hardly grasp the concept that she would be a 2—their way of engaging with the world seemed impossible from my life experience with Jessica.

When we broke for lunch I brought Jessica to be typed by Barbara. The rest is truly a miracle. As I anxiously watched on (as only a mother would do), I saw Barbara in the most gentle, loving way bring her soul to the typing of my daughter. Jessica responded first by glancing down as she had so often done in that soultype 4 way, until Barbara gently invited her to look up and into her eyes. And in that moment I witnessed the birth of my daughter’s soul as I saw her lock eyes with Barbara and come into her power.

For the rest of my life I will hold that image of pure aliveness and joy that I saw—in a fraction of a second—first in Jessica’s eyes and then in her whole being as Barbara brought her soul out into the world. When she danced the soultype 2 dance and I saw the TRUE Jessica filled with joy and life and every wonderful thing that only the soultype 2s in their most unique way bring to our world. So, this soul work holds a very sacred and special place in my heart.

I know that our work is about the birth of soul—gently and soulfully creating the space for us to experience the sacred in another. I have witnessed in Jessica a birth as magnificent as her physical birth fourteen years ago. I am profoundly touched. She is changed. I am changed, and I am humbled. There is no place for ego in this work. I really get that now.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of you that participated in holding the space for my daughter’s soul to come forth. I look forward to dancing the soultype 2 dance with her and seeing her bring her soul’s expression to the world for the rest of our lives.

2) His demeanor seemed softer than I remembered, and he walked differently. Greater fluidity and an even greater sense of ease. Initially he appeared somewhat distracted, thinking, mapping, gauging, considering.

He was in the company of some of his students and no Barbara. So he got to stand in a place and within a space with a different sense of self, of co-activity and of interaction with his students, with us.

The gathering was sound and the participants, some seasoned, some brand new to the way of the soul and yet each one ready to be open to learn, to experience, to come to the circle as newborns, soft and fresh. Alan, teacher, student, watching interactions, considering, becoming more and more present. Reaching into himself, reaching into others with great gentleness, with assuredness only of the opportunity for souls to be revealed; giving his unique gift easily, softly, gently, lovingly, and all the while watching and considering.

As each hour passed the intensity grew and the group became connected to one another gradually through soul. Aliveness and centeredness co-existed in his being. He opened to Source, he sensed his students, he worked his participants, through his body always asking for more, always getting it.

What next? What now? Each time the design allowed for the fullness of the experience to shine through. In moments of seeing him, the sacred came upon him and in him. As the sacred was revealed to us all, reality was altered. In awe he saw the magic work and knew that he was holding something unique, that a new life was being born into manifestation and his work was ever more transformed.

The intimacy within the group was palpable, real, grounded and sacred. No more would the old questions appear. No more would doubt cloud clarity. The way had been found and the opening of heart and mind to the universal understanding had been experienced.

Profound humility surrounded him and with input from all, spoken and unspoken, the weekend unfolded. He knew that each of us had experienced the sacred too. As he ended the session there was a softness to his body and a light around his being. In this community of souls at one, with a knowing that went far beyond words, he saw that we had accepted his gift and carried at least for the moment the knowing of alignment of body and soul with Source. He was left standing alone in his knowing, in his clarity and I wept for the beauty of it all.

I was in the CTI Leadership group "Grandfather's Breath" last week and I wanted to thank you personally for the soultyping work you did with me. Your session with us was truly a gift and for me, it was worth the entire cost of the leadership program. I feel a sense of coming home. Everything makes sense to me now. I know my place in the universe!

6) Dear Community,

We had an incredible day yesterday and wanted to share it with you while still fresh. I organized 20 people to be SoulTyped by Alan and Barbara and the impact was intense. We had such great learning about the typing process, the power of the soul's energy in a group setting, for me, the challenge of six slowing down, sitting with the tension and vulnerability and opening up enough to make soul level connection with others.

I had the wonderful opportunity to watch my friends and family have the honoring experience of connecting to their own souls and the souls of those around them, of watching them come home to who they are at their most core level. And I have been given the gift of relating to each one in a new and incredibly powerful and soulful way. How rich my life is becoming.

My guesses about family and friends had been just that, guesses. And no more accurate than statistically guessing would be. So more good learning for the journey. Yesterday was a huge milestone. The two biggest surprises were that my ex-husband is a SoulType One and my current boyfriend, is a six like me.

That my husband is a one caught me off guard, I was expecting him to be a 7 or 9. It made me quite sad, that all this time I had the 1-6 connection at my finger tips, and probably never really had that level of connection with him. I was quite incredulous and it felt so right. Alan gave us some amazing words of wisdom on how to create a new way of being together. For me Alan is continually challenging me to sit in the tension of the energy that shows up, to wait and see what develops before I move to action. This resonates for me as a six, as soon as energy starts to get stirred up I want to do something about it, rather than sitting in it and letting develop what needs to develop. Six in the world today has trouble waiting, we begin to move when the energy gets big and it can come across aggressively.

And, Alan challenged my husband to do what he does naturally, to hold my gaze, soften his eyes and stay vulnerable. When Brian said good-bye to me he gave me a hug, the first in a very long time, but he could not look at me. Alan asked him to take that step to vulnerability, and he did, he raised his chin, and looked in my eyes, and told me that he loves me and always has. So perhaps today will be a new day in our relationship, and we will be able to build a stable and supportive co-parenting relationship. It was an amazing moment in a longtime angry and antagonistic relationship.

Finding out that my boyfriend is a six was also a surprise. Because same type couples are rare, it didn't occur to me that he might be a six. And now that I know, it makes so much sense. We move the same way, he says stuff like I do, we relate beautifully to each other and understand each other very well, and there is this huge intensity between us that never needs to be spoken and a knowledge of where we are energetically in relationship. I think this one is here for me to learn to explore six deeply in relationship. We have been dating for eight months, and he has never said that he loves me.

Last night we were talking on the phone and he was acknowledging the power of the work, at first he was extremely skeptical and unwilling, and he was really watching out for me, he didn't want me to be duped by anyone into anything. And, of course, he left convinced of the truth of this work and from what I can tell so far, quite impacted. When we said good night, I said "I love you" and he said "Me too." A very big step forward.

The other powerful part of the experience of yesterday was that there were several family units typed. There was a grandmother (8), mother (1) daughter (6) trio that was typed. The impact on them was quite visible relief and a deepening of understanding in what makes them unique and special in their relationship. It was so powerful. There was another trio, two who had been typed and got their daughter typed, step dad (6), Mom (7) and daughter (8). What a nifty combination. I believe this is where the work gets so powerful, as an individual it is enlightening, awakening, but in relationship it is empowering and joyful.

I think that is the best part about all of this. There is so much love in the world. Connection with other is the divine source of love. Step into this with your physical strength, all of you. Go to your bodies, find your deepest connection to yourself, and come to the world from that place. It isn't about forcing anything, it's about allowing your gift, your love, your way of being in the world to come out so that others can do the same. It's about staying with it, and staying with it, and not running off into "doing" to escape the beauty of what is there but seems too intense to experience. Be brave my friends.

I love you all very much, and I am excited for what is to come. The world got to be a little brighter yesterday. Let's all keep it moving.

I appear to be the cheerleader for upcoming events for great coaching activities during the winter months--so be it. The following message relates to the upcoming workshop featuring Alan Sheets and Barbara Tovey, of New Equations from San Rafael, California. They will be giving a 2-day and one evening workshop on March 22, 23 and 24.

Alan Sheets and Barbara Tovey of New Equations have literally changed my life, with their SoulTyping work. They have absolutely changed my coaching. By being able to access fundamental strengths (for me, it is the strength of being able to powerfully align and connect with others) within me and by being able to anchor and access those strengths within my physical body, I am a much more fulfilled human being, as well as a much better coach.

I use these skills all of the time when I get into a jam in my coaching, and when I am about to do something that I am fearful of doing, such as marketing or presenting to a group of people. By recognizing and being able to call upon my strengths, I have something to access at times when I am in doubt. I also now know how to turn up the volume on these strengths, in order to have them better serve me, rather than being more haphazard and unknowing as to what I am doing that is actually useful to me.

My personal relationships have improved dramatically as a result of having done this work. I now work with Alan and Barbara--they are subcontractors in a Leadership Program that I am a co-leader of in California. They work closely with all of our Leadership participants. In fact, last week with Alan and Barbara, they helped to ground our Leadership Participants in their strengths, just before the participants headed up onto a series of very challenging high ropes events where they worked in pairs. The participants repeatedly stated that they overcame their fear by getting grounded in their SoulType strengths and, as a result, were much more able to listen to and work with their partners to achieve a greater outcome on each ropes element, than if they had simply scrambled up in fear and trepidation.

My wife, my son and my daughter have all been soul-typed. Our family dynamic has dramatically changed as we all now are able to take into consideration and understand not only our strengths, but also our challenges and the default behaviors that don't work for us. I will be returning to take this workshop with my son. I urge you to do the same. Is it pricey? Absolutely. Will it make a difference for you? Without question.

I know this sounds like a long commercial, but it is only because I so strongly believe in this work. For those of you who know me, you know that I don't endorse quirky, or fad-like things. This endorsement comes from the heart and it is because I want us to grow a very strong and self-confident coaching community. Our clients and those who are yet to benefit from all that coaching has to offer, deserve to have us be as grounded and strong and committed to them as we can be--so do our friends and families.
