The face of SoulType 5 looks calm because of their mental peace. SoulType 5s carry with them at all times a living map of reality—the ‘big picture.’ Their map, and peace of mind, is their gift to you. They are willing and ready to immediately change their personal beliefs whenever they find new information that makes their map more complete. SoulType 5s are compelled to seek out clarity in all situations, and are just as aware of what they do not know as they are of what they do know. They know that from the unknown more clarity will always emerge. SoulType 5s bring to you a Buddha-like wisdom that is free of emotional turmoil, confusion, and selfishness. SoulType 5 wisdom has a unique purity because it comes from personal experience, rather than hearsay.
5s continually update their understanding of reality by looking for ideas and information that will be useful to explain their experiences. This creates an alive map of reality that allows soultype 5s to respond to the ever changing world more from a place of conscious understanding rather than from survival instincts.
Posture of Strength
There are nine different families of human souls, and your body expresses which family you belong to. We have developed a simple way to bring forth the expression of your soul. When a facilitator challenges you to stand your ground without pushing back, you will naturally assume your posture of strength.
When you find your posture of strength and align yourself with your soul's wisdom, you will feel energized and more alive. The wisdom of your soul is a gift of love you give to the world. It is the most meaningful and significant thing that you have to offer.
Each of the nine soultypes contributes a vital link to the expression of the human spirit. For 5s this link is the ability to mold experience into understanding. In other words, 5s create a functioning, vital map of reality. For non-5s the conscious mind is always processing assumptions and conjectures that may not fit with their life experience. This leads to the so-called "mind chatter" that distracts them from living productive and fulfilling lives.
Consciousness results when you can understand your own experience. 5s gather information from outside sources (other people, books, television, etc.) and use it to create the clearest possible understanding. They continuously revise their understanding and are vigilant in keeping speculative or theoretical information out of the picture. 5s are the only soultype who are as aware of what they don't know as they are of what they do know.
The energy of each of the nine soultypes forms the basis for the spirituality of one of the major religions of the world. (This does not mean that you should join that faith, it only means that you can learn more about your essential nature by studying the spirituality of that religion.) For 5s this religion is Buddhism. The following paragraph from Huston Smith's book "The World's Religions" describes the 5's ideal of knowledge by direct experience:
It was empirical. Never has a religion presented its case with such unequivocal appeal to direct validation. On every question personal experience was the final test of truth. "Do not go by reasoning, nor by inferring, nor by argument." A true disciple must "know for himself." (p. 98)
The Experience of SoulType 5
To gain understanding, to become wise, to live life from peace of mind. To always keep a perspective on what is important. To know what you do not know. To know that life is a profound mystery that is to be lived and experienced. To know that any moment might be your last and to know that you are only human—that, in itself, is such a wondrous thing. We are all simple human beings living our lives as best we can. To know that no one is more important than anyone else gives you the freedom to live your life in your own way. You are not bound or limited by society's conventions. You can be who you want to be and do what you want to do.
