If you have not yet been soultyped, a prerequisite for taking the NE training program, you can book an appointment with one of the graduates.
The first year of the New Equations Training and Teaching Certification Program lays the groundwork. It is a four session residential program which includes homework, video conferencing, and supervised soultyping practice, between each of the sessions. Participants graduate with all the body-based learning necessary to teach and soultype, and receive a certificate acknowledging graduation from this part of the training.
The second year is an internship that includes honing soultyping and teaching skills, and mentoring of new incoming students. In collaboration with other graduates, program participants create supervised learning opportunities for themselves (soultyping, group events, workshops, etc.). This part of the program takes place primarily in a participant's own community. There will also be opportunities to travel and coteach with graduates living in other parts of the world, as well as opportunities to coteach with Alan and Barbara. Fees for this part of the training come from a percentage of the income received for the events. When a participant demonstrates proficiency in soultyping and teaching, they will receive a second certificate honoring their completion.

ONGOING TRAINING BETWEEN SESSIONS:

Some of your training between sessions will include:
1) Mentoring with graduates from the 2006 and 2007 programs. Throughout the year, you will be supported by, and receive ongoing training between sessions, by several graduates who will be specially assigned to work with you. These mentors will be with you at your school sessions, to support you, coteach, and to continue their own training.
2) Sightspeed (online video conferencing) connection with Alan and Barbara, and with all of your classmates and mentors. Please note that you will be required to sign up for Sightspeed, a free online video conferencing connection.
3) Participation in two weekend continuing education workshops presented by your mentors, either in person or over Sightspeed (depending on your proximity to a mentor in your region). These intensives will be scheduled in your part of the world to minimize your travel and lodging costs. One will be between the first and second school session, and the other will be between the third and fourth session. There is no additional tuition fee for these weekend workshops, though you may need to pay for some transportation and lodging.
4) Homework (often includes soultyping practice of public figures on DVDs that New Equations provides).
5) Writing about your experiences and posting your writing on the school yahoo group in order that you may contribute to the learning of your classmates and the New Equations community: we are all connected so when one student progresses, it moves everyone forward.
LOCATION: The Institute of Noetic Sciences Retreat Center (IONS)

IONS is a residential countryside retreat center
located in the lovely hills of Petaluma, California
(just 30 minutes north of San Francisco).
DIRECTIONS AND TRANSPORTATION TO IONS: click here
Marin Door To Door is a shuttle you can book to take you from SFO, the major Bay Area airport in San Francisco, to IONS. The Marin Airporter from SFO, or the Airport Express from/to Sonoma County to the Oakland Airport or SFO, is another option. You would be dropped off at a hotel near IONS, where you would then take a taxi the final distance. New Equations students living in the Bay Area are also available to help you with transportation to IONS. Please contact our office and we will be happy to help you make travel arrangements, as well.

SPECIAL NOTE TO THOSE TRAVELING FROM OVERSEAS: We want you to get as much as possible from the program. Please plan to arrive in the San Francisco Bay Area a minimum of four days before the program begins so you have time to get over jet lag. We have learned from much experience that you will have difficulty focusing, and be quite tired, if you do not have time to adjust to the new time zone. This is a great opportunity to sightsee, visit with friends, or just rest and enjoy some time to yourself! Sightseeing is easy to do during jet lag recovery as it does not require much focus, and you can sleep and rest whenever you need to. |
STARTING AND ENDING TIMES: Each of the four school segments will begin at 9:00 AM on the first day and end at 7:00 PM on the last day. The first meal at each segment will be lunch, and the last meal on the last day will be dinner. Arrangements can be made in advance by contacting IONS for those who want to arrive a day early, or stay overnight the last day. Please book additional nights well in advance as IONS may book up. Convenient hotels are also in the area.
FREE TIME: Two or three predesignated blocks of time will be scheduled for free time, and you will be informed of the dates and times in advance of your arrival to IONS. You may make personal plans to do other things (visit friends, hike, shop, etc.)

ATTENDANCE: Attendance is required for all course days. Please make sure your transportation arrangements will not make it necessary for you to either arrive late or leave early. No exceptions. Only students who complete all four segments will be eligible to become certified to soultype and teach New Equations courses.
Payment is due in full, including additional room and board payment (listed below), by July 9, 2008. Or, you may pay by an installment plan. Installment payment plans are available with no fees or interest charges. See below.
REGISTRATION: A deposit of $1,000 USD (nonrefundable) reserves your space in the program.
You may pay online and your credit card will be charged immediately by clicking here.
Or, you can reserve your space in the program by providing us with your credit card information, or sending us a check in US dollars. Call 415-459-6796, or email info@newequations.com. Please send a check or money order in USD made out to: New Equations, 197 Tunstead Ave., San Anselmo, CA 94960 USA
When we receive your deposit we will contact you to arrange your room and board.
Space is limited. These fees are guaranteed until May 31, 2008. If you want to register after May 31, please contact our office to check availability.
TRAINING BEGINS WITH YOUR MENTOR UPON REGISTRATION: We recommend that you register as soon as possible so that you may begin your training.
TUITION PLUS ROOM AND BOARD: Choose one of the four room and board plans listed below. Your New Equations tuition is included in these figures.
We highly recommend that you book your meals and lodging at IONS. IONS is not easily accessible from hotels, as it requires a drive on the freeway during rush hour. It is much easier to stay in community with the group if you stay at IONS, as well. All the students in the 2006 program preferred to eat and sleep at IONS, except for one student who slept at home during the last session. Your training schedule will be changing moment to moment, and there may be surprise outings to fun locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Your group will often meet in the evenings, as well.
Please note that the following fees pay for your room/bed for the first night after the session begins, and the following nights, up until the last day (eight days, seven nights). For example: your tuition for the first retreat (August 9-16) pays for you to sleep at IONS the nights of August 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. The session ends after dinner on August 16. If you would like to stay overnight at IONS after dinner (from August 15-16), contact the New Equations office as soon as possible and we will help you make arrangements to do this (you will also need to pay IONS to stay an additional night). Space is limited.
